Boomshaka 2008-2009 Auditions! Sep 17, 2008 Come audition for Boomshaka Wednesday, September 24th in Cahn Auditorium!!! Registration starts at 5:15. Auditions start at 6. Auditions are from 6-11pm. Callbacks will be the following day. No preparation is necessary, and bring tap shoes if you got 'em. Auditions are really fun, so if you like what Boomshaka does, make sure to come by! If you have questions about auditions, feel free to contact info@boomshaka.org.

Tickets on Sale!!

Tickets are now on sale for Boomshaka's tenth annual spring show, RESTORE CHAOS. The show runs Thursday May 15 (8 pm), Friday May 16 (8 + 11 pm), and Saturday May 17 (8 + 11 pm). The student price is $5, and general admission is $10. Tickets are available at the Norris Box Office.
Music Inspires Health Concert!

Boomshaka will be performing this Saturday, April 26 at Pick-Staiger for the Evanston part of the national Music Inspires Health tour. Boomshaka and Freshman 15 will be opening, and the headliner is Ari Hest, with special guests April Smith & The Great Picture Show. The show will start at 7:30 PM, and tickets are available on the Pick-Staiger website!

Back from Atlanta!

Boomshaka is back from their spring break tour in Atlanta and settling back down in Evanston, getting ready for classes and our spring show!! We had a great tour, and thanks to all of the schools that invited us to perform! And thanks to all the students we performed for this past week, you guys rocked! Keep leaving us messages, and hopefully we'll be back in Atlanta again for a future tour!

Boomshaka Invited to Play mtvU Woodie Awards!

Members of Boomshaka recently traveled to New York to open for the 2nd annual "Woodie Awards" on mtvU, MTV's college network. The piece performed was a variation of "Unplugged," a work originally conceived by Jared Kassebaum for the 2004 Spring Show, "This is a Test" ... The Woodie Awards aired on mtvU on November 2nd, as well as MTV on November 4th and MTV2 on November 5th. See footage of Boomshaka's performance here: Boomshaka at the Woodies
